The Monte-Carlo Television Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide have joined forces in order to reward programs which deliver the highest ratings worldwide.

Laurent Puons, Chief Executive Officer of the Festival and Frédéric Vaulpré, Vice President of Eurodata TV Worldwide revealed the winners of the 2018 edition of the “International TV Audience Awards” at the 58th Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Are rewarded the programmes delivering the highest ratings worldwide in 2017 across five continents in three categories: “Action & Science-Fiction TV Series”, “Crime TV Series”, and “Telenovelas / Soap Operas”. The winners were chosen based on the total of TV ratings of the best performing episodes in the broadcast countries* among the 62 territories included in the survey, i.e. about 3 billion potential viewers.

 

The winners are:

 

- For “Action & Science-Fiction TV Series”:

Scorpion (USA)

This programme gathered 20.8 million viewers worldwide in 2017.

Other successful programmes nominated in this category were MacGyver (USA) and Prison Break (USA).

 

- For “Crime TV Series”:

Lethal Weapon (USA)

This program gathered 31.9 million viewers worldwide in 2017.

Other successful programmes nominated in this category were NCIS (USA) and Criminal Minds (USA).

 

- For “Telenovelas / Soap Operas”:

The Bold And The Beautiful (USA)

This program gathered 10.6 million viewers worldwide in 2017.

Other successful programmes nominated in this category were Meri Aasquigui Tum Se Hi (India) and Saath Nibhana Saathiya (India).

 

* Based on the 30 best performing episodes of imported series in the 62 studied countries – international audiences only (excluding local market)
