The Monte-Carlo Television Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide have joined forces in order to reward programs which deliver the highest ratings worldwide.

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide announce the winners of the 12th “International TV Audience Awards”

Laurent Puons, Chief Executive Officer of the Festival and Sahar Baghery, Head of Global Research and Contents Strategy at Eurodata TV Worldwide revealed the winners of the 2017 edition of the “International TV Audience Awards” at the 57th Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

 

Are rewarded the programs delivering the highest ratings worldwide in 2016 across five continents in three categories: “Drama TV Series”, “Comedy TV Series”, and “Telenovelas / Soap Operas”. The winners were chosen based on the total of TV ratings of the best performing episodes of the nominees* in the broadcast countries among the 61 countries included in the survey, i.e. about 3 billion potential viewers.

 

The winners are:

For “Drama TV Series”:

NCIS (USA)

This program gathered 47.1 million viewers worldwide in 2016.

The other nominees were Criminal Minds (USA) and The X-Files (USA).

 

For “Comedy TV Series”:

The Big Bang Theory (USA)

This program gathered 39.8 million viewers worldwide in 2016.

The other nominees were Modern Family (USA) and Svaty (Ukraine).

 

For “Telenovelas / Soap Operas”:

The Bold And The Beautiful (USA)

This program gathered 13.1 million viewers worldwide in 2016.

The other nominees were Beni Affet (Turkey) and Meri Aaashiqui Tume Se Hi (India).

* The nominees were pre-selected among the fifteen best imported fiction programs in 61 countries.
