75 000 Cinéma is the benchmark study for understanding and analysing the Cinema media sector in France.
  • Who goes to the cinema?
  • What are cinemagoers' attendance habits?
  • How many different cinemagoers are there at each screen?
  • What changes have occurred since 1995?

75 000 Cinéma is the benchmark study in the French cinema environment. This study will tell you the size and profile of the audience in France from the population aged 6 and over, as well as attendance at cinemas (who go constantly; regularly, occasionally?) and the average number of sessions per cinemagoer over the last 7 days.

All of the 75 000 Cinéma results are listed according to attendance habits, stages in life and the main socio-demographic criteria.

75 000 Cinéma data is also used:

  • for media-planning purposes
  • to manage all the ad hoc studies carried out on cinemagoers
  • Institutions (example: CNC, Ministry of Culture, etc.)
  • Advertising agencies
  • Media agencies
  • Film distributors
  • Film producers
  • Cinema promotion agencies

Computer-assisted telephone interview procedure (CATI)

  • 27,800 interviews carried out all year round except in summer, constituting a representative sample of the population 6 years and over, with 24,000 individuals representing the population aged 15 and over.
  • Socio-demographic and geographic representation of the interviews, with equal distribution over the survey days.
  • Daily questioning (including weekends).

Examples of results:

  • the percentage of men who went to the cinema over the last 7 days;
  • the average number of weekly sessions for 6-10 year olds;
  • the structure of entries by region;
  • the development in the number of sessions per week and per cinemagoer;
  • the attendance habits of constant, regular and occasional cinemagoers.
